Thursday, March 13, Boutiques Unleashed, fashion for both ends of the leash. Portland’s premier fashion event for hip hounds! All proceeds benefit Dove Lewis Pet Loss Support Group. Go to www.boutiquesunleashed.com for details and tickets! The event starts at 5 pm, at Staver Locomotive, 2537 NW 29th Ave, Portland, (503) 222-3223. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres & cocktails, bid on silent auction items (including 1 of PetUtopia’s cutest carriers, & Laurel Burch accessories!), and mingle with Portland’s stylin’ dogs & people.  Visit our booth, & check out the show, with PetUtopia’s own models Mr. Big, Buster and Millie, Katie, Breezee & Madge as they take their turn on the runway in their finest Spring attire, paired with human models in the latest in fashions!  

 

March 14 – 16, PetUtopia is also participating in the Boutiques Unleashed Weekend, donating 10% of the weekend sales to Dove Lewis.

Thursday, 3/27 6:30 – 8 pm, Bonnie Hays Shelter Unveils Donor and Volunteer Recognition Display. Please join us at the shelter for the unveiling of this beautiful display. 

 

Saturday, 3/29, PetUtopia’s Spring Fling Party!

10 am – 5 pm, Faye Pietrokowsky, Pet Psychic. Northwest pet and people psychic Faye Pietrokowsky will be offering 10 ($20) and 15 ($30) minute pet consultations. 12 pm – 4 pm, Oregon Humane Society Adoption Outreach.  OHS returns with adoptable dog and cats!

12 pm – 5 pm, Complimentary Canine Massage, with Rubi Sullivan, of Heal Massage. A complimentary 10 minute consultation massage with Heal. Rubi of Heal (www.healnw.com). is a certified & insured mobile Animal Massage Practitioner. Benefits of animal massage include (but are not limited to): reduction of arthritis & joint pain, shortened healing time after surgery, increased flexibility & circulation, strengthening the immune system, relaxation, & decreased muscle tension.  Her schedule filled early for the last party, so sign up soon!

3 pm, “On the Ball” Demo by Bobbie Lyons, of Pawsitive Performance. Bobbie has been teaching a class at PetUtopia aimed at giving pets and people a fun way to exercise with a therapy ball.  See how Bobbie does it!

Coming In April

Sunday, 4/5, 5:30 - 7 pm, Massage Class with Rubi Sullivan, Heal Massage Therapist.  $25, prepaid. Dog massage is part of a holistic approach to your pet’s health care. After a day of romping at the day care or dog park, massage can help reduce stiffness and fatigue when they return home by increasing the circulation and flushing waste products from the muscle tissues. Or, your older dog, can feel the effects of a good massage in their joints & immune system. Customers rave about this class! Rubi Sullivan is a certified animal massage therapist, from Heal Massage Therapy.

 

Sunday, 4/6 through 5/11, On the Ball with Fun Tricks and Fancy Moves, with Bobbie Lyons, of Pawsitive Performance 5:30 - 7 pm, $75 prepaid. Our classes have been so much fun, Bobbie is expanding the class to include fun tricks! Learn a fun way to exercise your dog! Get a workout with your dog, and learn a new trick every week! Using the ball can increase the range of motion, flexibility; improve reflexes, & leads to increased muscle tone & endurance. Balls are provided for this class. It’s limited to 7 people and 7 dogs who get along with other dogs. Sign up at the store.

 

Saturday, 4/19, The Healing Power of Pets - discover Delta Society. Free.  Delta Society's Pet Partners Program trains & screens volunteers & their pets for visiting animal programs in hospitals, nursing homes, rehab centers, schools & other facilities. Over 10,000 Pet Partners teams operate in all 50 states & 4 other countries, helping more than 1,000,000 people each year. I volunteered for years with 2 dogs, and found this to be one of the most rewarding programs I ever joined. It changed my life – it could change yours. Learn how visiting with your pet can improve people’s health and well-being. Hear the personal stories of the co-founder, Dr. Bill McCulloch, DVM, other Delta officers, as well as local Pet Partner teams. Sign up at the store.

 

Saturday, 4/26, 5 pm – 9 pm, TTouch Class, with Dawn Jansen, certified TTouch practitioner, of the Pawsitive Companion, $65/person with a dog, $50/person without a dog. The Tellington TTouch® Method (TTouch) focuses on improving and maintaining the quality of an animal companion's life, instilling self-confidence so that a mutual relationship can be developed with the human caretaker - a relationship based on appreciation and friendship. Dawn volunteers at the Oregon Humane Society and uses TTouch® on the animals there. Her ability to calm animals has helped them become more adoptable...  Many of our customers have requested this class. Sign up at the store.
