Saturday, 1/12, 5:30 - 7 pm, “On the
Ball”, taught by Bobbie Lyons. No charge. Learn a fun
way to exercise
your dog inside during the winter months! This seminar will cover how to get
your dog interested in the therapy ball and how to get them on it. Using the therapy
ball to strengthen & exercise your dog is a fun & entertaining way to
build a relationship with your dog, especially during the rainy season. This is
a great way to exercise their mind & body as well as strengthen their
core muscles. The basic beginner workout will be demonstrated as well as an
explanation of the benefits of muscle toning, balance, and overall
stimulation that working with the therapy ball can give your dog. In addition, using the ball can also increase
the range of motion, flexibility; improve reflexes, and leads to increased
muscle tone & endurance. This is also a great way for you to get a
workout with your dog. Bobbie
brought in Riley, her 16 mo. old Border Collie, and a therapy ball to demo
what she teaches in this class. It was
so much fun just watching them work on the ball that I went home and tried it
on my ‘kids’! We all got a good
workout (and a lot of laughs!)! We are
excited to offer this first class for free. Balls are provided for this
class. It’s limited to 5 people and 5 dogs who get along with other dogs. This class is closed. Pls. sign up for future classes!. Sunday,
1/13, 5:30 - 7 pm, Massage Class with Rubi Sullivan, Heal Massage
Therapist. $25. Focused
on preventative care, dog massage is part of a holistic approach to your
pet’s health care. After a day of romping at the day care or dog park,
massage can help reduce stiffness and fatigue when they return home by
increasing the circulation and flushing waste products from the muscle
tissues. Massage can help your dog deal with the stress of boarding that they
may experience while you’re away. Or, for your older dog, massage may be just
what the doctor ordered. They can feel the effects of a good massage in their
joints & immune system. Rubi was recently featured on KOIN TV news! This will be our
third class – sign up early for one of five spots! Customers rave about this
class! Rubi
Sullivan is a certified animal massage therapist, from Heal Massage Therapy.
It’s such a hit with our customers’ dogs that we heard a chorus of melodious
moans from the last class of dogs! Sign up at the store. Saturday,
1/26, 5:30 – 6:30 pm, The Healing Power of Pets - discover Delta Society. No
charge. Delta Society's Pet Partners Program
trains & screens volunteers & their pets for visiting animal programs
in hospitals, nursing homes, rehab centers, schools & other facilities. Over
10,000 Pet Partners teams operate in all 50 states & 4 other countries,
helping more than 1,000,000 people each year. I
volunteered for years with 2 dogs, and found this to be one of the most
rewarding programs I ever joined. It changed my life – it could change yours. Learn how visiting
with your pet can improve people’s health and well-being. Meet the
