PetUtopia, whose products have been featured in The Oregonian and on Portland’s AM Northwest television program, celebrated the opening of its new retail location just north of Washington Square, at 8670 SW Scholls Ferry Road, in Beaverton.

PetUtopia’s grand opening celebration included a full schedule of events August 19 – 30 that delighted pets and the people who love them. Visitors received free tastes of treats, and important information enhancing the health and happiness of pets and pet lovers, including an American Red Cross Pet First Aid class, how to make your own personalized collars, and a presentation on the Maian Meadows Dog Camp, to information about Reading Education Assistance Dogs, how to plan the perfect pet party, animal shelter volunteer opportunities, Dancing with Your Dog, and more. We had daily raffles, and Silent Auctions that benefited 3 Rescues.

During the Grand Opening, PetUtopia raised $242.25 in silent auctions, with proceeds benefiting Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals (OFOSA), Other Mothers Rescue, and Indigo Rescue. Thanks to all who participated!

And a special thanks to our suppliers for the prizes for our raffles and the Silent Auctions, and to Iron Mutt Coffee Company for the excellent coffee they provided during our Grand Opening!

Pet First Aid and CPR Class, August 25th

The Pet First Aid and CPR Class was a huge success!

This class was so successful that we will have another class Saturday, October 14th, from 1 - 5 pm!

Each participant received a Pet First Aid manual to take home with them.

The Red Cross Instructor, Kelly James, also brought plush pet CPR equipped mannequins for the class to practice on!
Adoption Events Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals, August 24 – 25 Other Mothers Animal Rescue, August 26 th Animal Aid, August 28th Bonnie Hays Small Animal Shelter, August 29th
Adoption Events included adoptable animals from Animal Aid, Bonnie Hays Small Animal Shelter, Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals, and Other Mothers Animal Rescue. We also had representatives on hand from Cat Adoption Team, and Oregon Humane Society.
